The “captivating,” “vivid,” and “polished” (The New York Times) ensembles of Brooklyn Youth Chorus mark the holiday season with an unforgettable night of world-class music at the stunning Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph.
Having performed and collaborated with an impressive range of organizations and artists – including the New York Philharmonic, The National, Bon Iver, Barbra Streisand, Arcade Fire, Sir Elton John, and Caroline Shaw, among many others – the premiere performance ensembles of Brooklyn Youth Chorus will present a stirring and dynamic concert of contemporary music and smart arrangements of choral and holiday classics. Program includes contemporary works by Phillip Glass, Gyöngyösi Levente, Libby Larson, Ola Gjeilo, Zoltán Kodály, Randall Thompson, and choral classics by Handel and Gluck.
With Guest Artist Anthony Roth Costanzo
Fresh off an exhilarating run in the Metropolitan Opera’s acclaimed production of Philip Glass’ Akhnaten, Grammy Award-nominee and Musical America’s 2019 Vocalist of the Year will join the Chorus for this special performance.
Featuring Metropolis Ensemble
Described by the New York Times as a ‘vibrant collective”, Grammy Nominated Metropolis Ensemble exists to support ascending contemporary classical performers and composers, often engaging them with other bleeding-edge cultural innovators and artists through its unique collaborative process.
