New Voices Commissioning Project

“A consistently bold organization that regularly commissions works from composers representing an unusually broad stylistic range.” —The New York Times

We regularly commission composers to develop original pieces for the Chorus. Our favorite composers share the imagination and drive needed to collaborate with a youth chorus, a unique “instrument” always dynamic, always rewarding. Since its founding, Brooklyn Youth Chorus has commissioned over 100 works, including works premiered at Jazz at Lincoln Center, BAM, National Sawdust, and St. Ann’s Warehouse.
