Lift Evr’y Voice – w/ Davóne Tines

This year for Black History Month, Brooklyn Youth Chorus honors the Black artists who enrich our art form and our musical learning each and every day. Throughout the month we will post Brooklyn Youth Chorus performances of works by Black composers and collaborations with Black performers from across our years and levels.

We kick things off with a premiere of one of the most important songs in the canon, the Black National Anthem. Brought together by, acclaimed operatic bass-baritone Davóne Tines arranged Lift Ev’ry Voice for a joint project with Brooklyn Youth Chorus. Recorded in July of 2020 four months into the pandemic, please enjoy the premiere of Lift Ev’ry Voice.
