Make a contribution to Brooklyn Youth Chorus today!

“Brooklyn Youth Chorus helped me learn that pursuing music professionally does not have to be a fantasy, but is a very tangible reality.” –Sarah, Class of 2017

With your gift to Brooklyn Youth Chorus, a diverse group of over 650 NYC children will have access to the highest level of music education and performance opportunities, regardless of background and financial circumstances. Over 25 years, the Chorus has never turned away a student because of a family’s inability to pay tuition. Tuition only covers 27% of our program cost: your gift will ensure that students of all socioeconomic backgrounds have the chance to benefit from our transformative music education program.

Please be an instrument of change and help Brooklyn Youth Chorus empower our students to raise their voices and find a path toward a bright future. A gift of any size makes an impact:

  • $50 will sponsor the cost of a uniform for one student
  • $100 will sponsor a one hour of private voice lessons for a child on financial aid
  • $250 will sponsor a high school audition prep class for a teen on financial aid
  • $500 will sponsor a week of summer camp for one student
  • $1,000 will sponsor the costs of touring for one chorister on financial aid
  • $2,500 will sponsor a series of performances in local public schools
  • $5,000 will sponsor the commissioning of a piece by a living composer
  • $10,000 will sponsor the cost of running our program in one NYC public school

Mary Anne Yancey Memorial Fund

Brooklyn Youth Chorus has established the Mary Anne Yancey Memorial Fund to honor the memory of one of our staunchest advocates and greatest benefactors.

Mary Anne passed away on October 25, 2013. During her 11-year tenure on the Chorus’s Board of Directors, she guided us through unprecedented growth and achievement, increasing outreach to underserved communities and strengthening the artistic vision of the Chorus.

In honor of Mary Anne, the Chorus has established the Mary Anne Yancey Memorial Fund to aid two programs that were especially dear to her heart: elective scholarships for low-income students of promise, and the Chorus’s growing commissioning program. Gifts to the fund will be applied directly to one of these two initiatives to honor Mary Anne’s commitment to these causes.

We are proud to honor her memory with this fund, which will allow us to carry on her incredible dedication to our mission and programs. To learn more about Mary Anne Yancey and her extraordinary contributions to our organization, please click here.
