Announcing the 2021-2022 Bass Ensemble Composer Competition

Brooklyn Youth Chorus is now seeking original score submissions for its Bass Ensemble 2021-22 Composer Competition.

The competition winner will receive:

  • A prize of $500 (US)

  • A world premiere performance by the Brooklyn Youth Chorus Men’s Ensemble

  • A well-rehearsed video or audio recording of the live performance

The Bass Ensemble is for advanced tenors and basses (changed voice singers) and is conducted by Kristopher Burke. They have performed or recorded with major orchestras and artists such as the New York Philharmonic, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, John Legend and for such important dignitaries as Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the New York Giants and Jets, among others.
